VE3RPL Parry Sound operates on 145.490 MHz with a minus 600 khz offset.
The repeater is capable of PL (156.7 hz) and CS which is known as dual squelch.
Since the addition of the new S-COM 7330 Repeater Controller it has the ability to control the style of PL or Non-PL usage.
Here's an explanation its changes.
From a Non- PL (open) usage there are really no changes. You will still be able to use the basic repeater rag chewing ,as in the past.
The only disadvantages you may have , are bursts of interference and hearing all the repeater brag messages.
In the PL mode there are some changes that make various functions easier to use.
As in the past PL was used for IRLP and other linking options, but you had to keep turning your PL off and on. The new controller now does it for you.
Here's an example
If you are using PL on transmit you only have to use the DTMF code to open the various linking options.
If your using PL on both TX and RX you will be able to not only use the various linking options BUT now the controller only sends PL when there is a received signal only. This helps with any interference that you may have.
In full PL you will also not hear all the Brag messages.
